The Instructional Designer will report to Manager, Learning Systems Technology.  The Instructional Designer analyzes, designs, and develops learning strategies to support a remarkable patient experience using a wide range of learning formats, including instructor led, virtual and computer based education.  Analyzes learning needs and develops blended learning solutions for a healthcare audience. This role requires collaborative, consultative relationships with stakeholders and customers. Leverages an understanding of user interface design to better understand our learners and deliver a positive digital learning experience. 


This position will be based in Wilmington, NC, Winston-Salem, NC or Charlotte, NC; Wilmington, NC is preferred.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.  Accelerated Degree preferred. Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, education, adult/continuing education, or related field required.
  • Experience: Five years relevant experience in instructional design or education and training required.

  • Demonstrated use of multimedia and development of computer-based training (CBT) with responsive design for mobile devices using common authoring software such as Captivate, Articulate 360, HTML/DHTML, Adobe Photoshop; white board animation and voice over software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design models (ADDIE, CRI).
  • Speed to Market: Effectively works in a fast-paced work environment to deliver results.
  • World Class: Knowledgeable about HR best practices and future trends in healthcare and in industry.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Digital Fluency: Proficiency with virtual meetings and Microsoft Office 365, specifically Power Point, Excel and Teams; learning management systems.
  • Highly Effective Communicator: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, appropriately and inclusively with key stakeholders at all levels.
