The Building Automation Control Technician I is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and validation and commissioning of existing installed base of building automation systems utilizing knowledge of direct digital controls (DDC), airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory and applied control strategies and electronics. This position will work closely with the rest of Plant Engineering Services to ensure both customer satisfaction and efficient use of hospital resources. This position will also act as point of contact for any change of operations or construction projects dealing with the HVAC building automation.

  • Education: High School Diploma Required Associates Degree Preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of demonstrated exp in Building Controls systems including Niagara, platform, Johnson Controls, Trane, Siemens, Honeywell DDC, EMS and building operations. Required. Experience with systems that involve advanced solutions, such as EBI, Tridium, Allerton, Echelon, BACnet and other open technologies. Required
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: CFC Univeral Certification (EPA Rule 608) Preferred. Valid driver's license in appropriate state Required
  • Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Demonstrated ability and knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital controls systems with ability to test and make modifications in a variety of controls software system languages. Responsible for device testing (end-to-end), program downloading, equipment start-up and operations. Ability to interpret control drawing, plans and sequence of operations. Capable of hardware installation and software programming. Diagnosis and repair of DDC systems. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Ability to successfully apply customer service standards.
