Overview

The Clinical Analytics Architect Sr is an expert in analytical system design and innovations in the area of clinical analytics. This position builds and deploys modern analytics platforms and solutions that helps clinicians provide the best care to our patients. Contributes from a clinical data perspective to the enterprise data models, including physical and logical models of the data warehouse, data mart, staging area, and sometimes the operational data store and source systems. Advises the Enterprise Data Warehouse Team in the design and implementation of Novant Health’s enterprise data model. Works at the highest functional level of most phases of the design and development of clinical analytics while considering implications of the application of technology to current and future business environment. Interacts and communicates effectively with various clinical stakeholders to understand clinical analytics needs and provide elegant solutions to exceed the analytical needs of the clinical teams.

Digital Products and Services team members are responsible for securely managing information systems throughout their lifecycle, including knowing what information systems are within their scope of responsibility, understanding what sensitive data is stored, transmitted, or processed on those information systems, enforcing the security principles of least privilege and least functionality, knowing what events may constitute a cybersecurity incident, and understanding their role in security incident response activities.

Qualifications

  • Education:  Bachelor's Degree Required. Graduate Degree Preferred.
  • Experience:  Minimum seven years of healthcare, human resources, leadership, or data architecture experience required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements required:  Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads. Capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Must have strong conceptual, communications, and technical skills. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Strong analytical, data querying, data modeling skills using Kimball and/or Inman data warehouse design methodologies. Proficient with Erwin or similar data modeling tools. Proficient with data profiling tools. Working knowledge of SQL Server, Hive, Spark and big data systems like Hadoop. Strong experience writing complex SQL queries. Working knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS and/or Informatica. Expertise in visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau etc. Strong experience with clinical data, understanding of EPIC data models and clinical workflows. Ability to design and implement data marts for using in analytics solutions. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities as needed.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements preferred:  Knowledge of cloud data technologies on AWS or Azure.
