Assistant Nurse Manager

NHFMC Neurosciences Unit is a 43-bed acute inpatient unit dedicated to the care of patients with stroke and other neurological and neurosurgical disorders, with 33 medical telemetry beds, 6 medical surgical beds, and 4 intermediate level epilepsy monitoring beds. Our unit Average Length of Stay is 4.7 days and the average patient age is 65.6. Adult patients who are 18 years of age or older are accepted to this unit. Patients for Epilepsy Monitoring must be 18 years of age or older. Care Delivery Method Services are provided by trained and competent team members. Clinical oversight, feedback and direct supervision are provided by Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) as well as a Nurse Manager who is 24 hour accountable operationally for team member performance and patient care. Nursing care is delivered using a staffing model of 5:1 for RN ratio and 7:1 for CNAs’ ratio, depending on the unit census.

Nursing Major Patient Population appropriate for admission to neurosciences: · Stroke (stabilized Ischemic and Hemorrhagic) · TIA · Stable Neurology and neurosurgery service patients · Neurology and Neurosurgery patients requiring medical telemetry and/or pulse oximetry monitoring · Medical surgical patient requiring telemetry

Assistant Nurse Manager – Neuroscience

RELOCATION ELIGIBLE POSITION for experienced RNs. 

We are currently interviewing Registered Nurses for our Neuroscience department with a BSN and at least two years of Neuroscience experience.    

Responsibilities: 

• Works in partnership with Nurse Manager and other leaders to create, support and maintain a culture of professional accountability
• Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, Novant Health Nursing Practice Model – Duffy’s The Quality - Caring Model©, evidence-based practice and guidelines from formal nursing organizations as the foundation for nursing practice
• Develops and implements an education plan for areas of responsibility annually in collaboration with Nursing Practice Education and Research
• Monitors and improves team satisfaction through recruitment and retention initiatives

• Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Master's Degree Preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required.
• Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience Preferred. Prior demonstrated nursing leadership Preferred.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state Required. Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.
• Additional Skills Required: Successful completion of generic and department‐specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
