Overview

Novant Health Pediatric Cardiology is comprised of 4 pediatric cardiologists providing cardiac services for patients from the antenatal period to age 21 who have acquired or congenital heart disease, as well as adult congenital heart disease patients. Located in Charlotte, NC, Novant Health Pediatric Cardiology provides services for patients in the metro Charlotte region. In addition to satellite ambulatory clinics, acute cardiac services are provided at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, which includes Hemby Children’s Hospital (30-bed inpatient service), 10-bed pediatric intensive care unit, and a 50-bed neonatal intensive care unit, as well as a 24-hour pediatric Emergency Department.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associates Degree required.
  • Experience: Two years of echocardiography experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography required. (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required.
  • Additional Skills Required: New graduates of a two year program must be registered within 12 months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)’ age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient(s)’ requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Considerable verbal ability to effectively communicate observations and input to nursing staff, physicians and other department staff.
  • Additional skills preferred: Pediatric experience required. Experience in fetal echocardiography desired.
