We are currently interviewing Registered Nurses for our General Surgery Team with at least two years of experience.    

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Works in partnership with Nurse Manager and other leaders to create, support and maintain a culture of professional accountability
  • Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements, Novant Health Nursing Practice Model – Duffy’s The Quality - Caring Model©, evidence-based practice and guidelines from formal nursing organizations as the foundation for nursing practice
  • Develops and implements an education plan for areas of responsibility annually in collaboration with Nursing Practice Education and Research
  • Monitors and improves team satisfaction through recruitment and retention initiatives

About the Unit

7th General Surgery department 004603 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center (NHFMC) is here to provide the patient with remarkable care in every dimension, every time. We are at 39 bed telemetry unit providing the following care:

 

  • Telemetry monitored and unmonitored patients.
  • IV antibiotics, blood administration, tube feeding, lidocaine drips
  • Anticoagulants, pain management, blood sugar administration
  • Chest tubes, wound drains, NG tubes, wound vacs, wound dressing changes.
  • Care of urinary catheters and PICC lines

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education: 

    • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required.
    • Graduate Degree, preferred.

Experience: 

    • Minimum of two years of clinical RN experience, preferred.
    • Prior demonstrated nursing leadership, preferred.

Licensure/Certification: 

    • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    • Unit/Dept Specific Required Certifications.

Additional Skills (required): 

      • Successful completion of generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
      • Ability to successfully complete Leader Education & Training.
