Transcultural Health Manager

*Ideal candidate will need to be located in the Winston Salem area.* This position has the responsibility of embedding health equity in clinical areas in order to deliver on the remarkable patient experience. Responsible for improving the health care experience and outcomes for patients within identified diverse communities and populations across Novant Health. The Transcultural Health Manager will directly with clinical team members and members of the leadership team. The Transcultural Health Manager will design and implement ongoing education to facilitate understanding and implementation of health equity standards and principles. This leadership role will coordinate efforts with leaders towards patient care improvements that will support the remarkable patient experience and improve patient outcomes. • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate Degree, preferred. 
• Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare, required. Experience in quality improvement, required. 
• Additional Skills (required): Strong written and verbal communication skills; general computer knowledge; ability to self-direct, manage time and resources; ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently; ability to lead and function within a high-performing team; ability to travel throughout the Novant Health footprint. Basic knowledge of healthcare risk management, patient safety/high reliability principles, healthcare operations (clinical and business), cultural competence and quality improvement methodology. Knowledge of risk management principles and issues regarding cultural competence. Superior interpersonal skills. Strong leadership qualities (i.e. management, organizational, analytical, and relationship development). Effective communication and facilitation skills. Ability to identify and implement patient safety initiatives. Understanding of change management. Ability to build and facilitate teams. Innovative, self-motivated and strong critical-thinking skills
• Additional Skills (preferred): Clinical knowledge and background: recent experience within last 1-2 years preferred, Nursing experience preferred.
