Overview

The Manager of Finance will be responsible for various assigned areas within the corporate finance team. Potential areas of responsibility include the following: overall maintenance of general ledger and chart of accounts; responsibility for consolidated general accounting functions, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations; coordination of annual inventory counts; involvement in annual financial statement audit; month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial close procedures; and accounting analysis and review. Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, Accounting, required. Graduate Degree Accounting, Business, or Finance, required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in accounting services, required. Supervisor experience and proven ability to direct and develop others, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Public Accountant, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required)
    • Managing benefit plan audits and 5500 filings
    • Investments
      • Preparation of FAS157 file and related footnote disclosure
      • Commitments schedule – working with NAMCO to ensure its accuracy.
      • Schedule of purchases/sales for both short and long-term investments – for the statement of cash flows
      • Annual hindsight analysis – for prior year investments
      • Annual SOX/Compliance testing for investments
    • Interim and year-end audit:
      • Confirmations – working with NAMCO to update contacts, address and e-mails for investment manages.  Working with auditors to ensure all confirmations are received.
      • Schedule of Level 1 & 2 investments
      • Working with NAMCO on ownership %’s for out NAV & equity investments
      • Year-end cutoff testing and support
      • Monthly NAMCO meeting calls with investment managers and ensuring we can still use equity accounting for small investments – less than 3% ownership.
      • Other than temporary losses
    • Help/assistance with statement of cash flows
    • Month-end close entries for cash & short-term investments with NT
    • 2023 – Commercial Insurance budgets.
