  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree required. BS in Exercise Physiology or related Exercise field. MS degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology preferred. 
  • Experience: Rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification: Progressing toward a ACSM exercise related certification required.  
  • Additional skills preferred:
    • Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management.
    • Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data.
    • Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
    • Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed.
    • Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.
    • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
