 About 6th General/East

Is one of 3 Heart & Vascular Institute telemetry units at NHFMC.  We are a 39 bed cardiac telemetry unit providing care primarily for patients with heart failure.  Other patient populations that we serve are NSTEMI, pre & post cardiac cath lab and Electrophysiology, dysrhythmia management & transfers from Critical Care. Starting November of 2022 we will also be serving patients post bariatric surgery. These patients will be 24 observation with BMI of less than 55.  We have a heart failure navigator who provides exceptional education to our newly diagnosed heart failure patients and to provide reeducation to chronic heart failure patients.  Nurses, certified nursing assistance, and medical unit receptionist work together to ensure patient needs are met. We work with case management, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a nutritionist  and other ancillary depts. to provide the remarkable patient experience. • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to manage cardiac patients, previous experience caring for critical care patients, knowledge of EKG rhythms.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Previous applicable progressive/telemetry and/or critical care experience.
