The Novant Health Brand Marketing Director is responsible for development and oversight of marketing strategies, working collaboratively with all departments to ensure all collateral materials, advertisements, communications, and activities accurately reflect and support Novant Health brand and message expectations.


She/he partners with corporate departments and teams across Novant Health to uncover opportunities, partner for marketing needs, address brand reputation and position NH as the choice for all healthcare needs. She/he analyzes current market trends and opportunities, develops comprehensive marketing plans and oversee/implements strategic and tactical objectives. This individual will collaborate with various branding and advertising agencies, sponsorship partners, and the marketing-related elements of relationships with outside healthcare providers/partners. They apply expertise in marketing strategy; function in a consultative leadership capacity to cross-functional partners within Novant Health in the development and execution of a wide-range of events both large and small. Provides direction and system-wide integration for marketing and business development activities, ensuring all marketing communications activities support organizational and brand strategy. Develops the positioning and branding strategy for Novant Health and manages the complex branding taxonomy and architecture that integrates institutes, markets and facilities. She/he ensures compliance with branding strategies and structures by utilizing and developing methodologies and protocols.

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in  Communications, Business, Health Administration or related field, required. MBA, graduate degree; or equivalent experience, strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of people management experience, required. 12 - 15 years of brand/ advertising experience; preferably with healthcare industry marketing experience, required. 
  • Licensure/Certification
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Demonstrated understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).
    • Knowledge in digital media channels (paid search, programmatic, content syndication and paid social).
    • Effective management and communication skills; both orally and written.
    • Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
    • Demonstrated success in developing and optimizing B2C digital marketing strategy and creative execution.
    • Experience working collaboratively both across marketing/communications functions as well as with cross-functional partners.
  • Additional Skills (preferred):
    • Strategic focus, with hands on experience delivering effective marketing programs.
    • Healthcare experience and/or understanding.
    • Strong analytical skills and management of data and KPIs.
    • Proven managerial skills with demonstrated people success stories.
