Neonatal Nurse Practitioner

Novant Health is looking for a compassionate, caring Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to provide primary health care and perform selective medical services under the direction of practice physicians. Function in an expanded role under approved protocols to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care. This role provides care to infants and their families in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and other hospital areas as needed under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. Responsible for collaboration, consultation, teaching, and supervising.

• Education:  Graduate of Accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; M.S.in Nursing or Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program; Masters of Medical Science required.
• Experience: Minimum of two yrs in high risk neonatal care exp required
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: RN license currently licensed in NC, approved to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in NC By Board of Nursing and NC Board of Medical Examiners; Certified by NCC;OR currently licensed by NC Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant; Certified by NCCPA required.
• Additional Skills Required: Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
• Additional Skills Preferred: Physical requirements: Stand and move around majority of the day; climb (to reach patient care equipment); lift patients and equipment; push/pull wheelchairs, carts and beds; sit occasionally; bend and stoop; manual dexterity; run; negotiate stairs; see, hear, speak, smell, and touch.
