Novant Health Medical Group is looking for a conscientious, compassionate, and experienced Orthopedic Physician Assistant to join a growing practice of one physician and one APP. This position would provide clinical care for orthopedic patients in an ambulatory and acute setting in Brunswick County, NC. We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in casting, joint injections, suture removal and surgical assist. The ideal candidate is patient-centric, flexible, adaptable, dependable, and treats each member of the team whether clinical or non-clinical as a valued part of the team.
Our expert surgeons and PA’s work collaboratively to provide outstanding quality to our operative and non-operative patients. Our Orthopedic providers treat patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Candidates are responsible for performing a variety of functions under the supervision of the orthopedic surgeon. These include but are not limited to: seeing patients in the office setting, assisting in surgery and office procedures, taking call, evaluation of orthopedic diagnoses, and coordination of the patient care pathway.
Supply is a rural beach community, ideally located about halfway between Wilmington, NC, and Myrtle Beach, SC. Our county is growing rapidly but still offers a reasonable cost of living for a coastal community. It offers a quieter pace of living than either Wilmington or Myrtle Beach while offering easy access to the amenities of both.

Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program required.
Experience: One to three years of experience in Orthopedics preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, BLS, DEA registry required.
Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and depart-specific skills validation and competency testing; Thorough knowledge of diagnosis, and pharmacology; Thorough skill in physical assessment and management of chronic illness; Communication skills, both verbal and written; general computer knowledge is preferred; ability to work independently, yet in collaboration when necessary. Ability to use problem-solving, decision making, creative and communication skills. Dedicated to patient rehabilitation and self-care.
