Overview

Primary responsibility and activity for the assessment, improvement, implementation, and support of the Novant Health Master Data Management (MDM) product. Works within and beyond area of control to implement improvement approaches recommended by the Master Data Management Senior, DPS management, or business stakeholders. Analyzes business requirements and translates to technical requirements. Collaborates with Enterprise Architects, Data Platform Integration, other teams, and third-party vendors. Configures MDM per requirements, following standards and design patterns, applying defensive programming for any code that is needed for extending the MDM solution. Applies problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues around the MDM solution, and liaisons with vendors to diagnose and resolve potential defects. Works with Business Analysts and subject matter experts on processes to enable and ensure data quality within the MDM product. Configures MDM Pre-Landing, Landing, Stage, and Base tables for data load and validates the load. Develops and optimizes match and merge algorithms. Configures and supports elastic search to be used for the MDM user interface. Develops, monitors, and supports matched record exceptions workflows.  Assists in the support of other patient matching processes within the organization. Implements best practices following policies, change management practices and procedures. Develops subject matter expertise of the Novant Health master data processes and how it impacts upstream and downstream solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum two years in a MDM engineering or developer role, required. Experience with Master Data Management tools such as Informatica MDM. Knowledge of the capabilities and constraints of the Master Data Management product. Experience in the development and optimization of match and merge algorithms.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads with minimal supervision. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Values and encourages team collaboration. Basic knowledge of end-to-end processes for producing and delivering a trusted MDM record. Ability to engineer a MDM solution, including the integration with data quality tools. Experience with MDM development tasks. Run SQL queries to identify data issues, data fixes, and validate new and existing data. Perform research, data collection, quality assurance, analysis and problem solving. Utilization of change management processes and agile methodology.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge and experience with development using Informatica MDM, Entity 360, and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ). Experience with Microsoft Azure. Experience with mastering healthcare data, such as Provider and Patient is preferred. Experience with electronic patient medical record systems, such as Epic and Epic’s Roster Management Engine. Understanding of agile framework and methodology.
