About Clinical Pre and Post Procedures: 

We are a 24-bed cardiac pre and post procedural, inpatient, card-tele unit located within Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center on the 5th West Tower I. CPPU provides care to a vast array of patients with various cardiac diagnoses:

 

*Cardiac Catheterizations pre-post- Diagnostic and PCI placement

*Arterial and Venous sheath removal and management

* Permanent Pacemaker and Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator (AICD) pre-post procedure

* Watchman Procedures

* Treatment of cardiac arrythmias with medicated drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Sotalol)

* Nitroglycerin drips not greater than 20mcg for stable chest pain patients

* Non- ST elevation myocardial infarctions (NSTEMI) treatment

* Heart failure patient populations-Occasional Lasix drips, renal dose Dopamine/Dobutamine

* Carotid Artery Stent Patients (CAS)- post procedure

* Trans-Ischemic Attack (TIA) patients with a NIHHS scale of less than 3 

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. Advanced certifications as required per facility.
  • Additional Skills (Required): Appropriate customer service, effective and appropriate customer relations, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution, critical thinking and computer literacy. Advanced training as required by department.
