Overview

Novant Health Pediatric Neurology&Sleep is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant/ or Clinical Care Partner to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. You will also work directly with healthcare practice staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations. The Clinical Care Partner  coordinates and assists the provider and nursing to ensure safe quality/cost effective service and care for the people within the practice population. Provides and documents clinical care and maintenance of a safe and clean environment, under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/APP or physician. While CNA I and CNA II can work under the license of a physician or APP, they must work a minimum of 8 hours every 24 months directly supervised by an RN employed at the clinic, per the North Carolina Board of Nursing requirements for licensure, or make arrangements for them to complete this supervision at a sister NHMG clinic location.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma.  Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, which includes an externship in a medical office clinical setting, is required. The curriculum must include pharmacology and medication administration. (Certificate must be obtained within six months of hire).  Certificates accepted:
  • Licensure/certification/registration:  CMA, CCMA, or RMA. Refer to Life Support Training Policy NH-HR-3096. Annual UAP agreement with provider required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.

Education for CCP:

High School Diploma or GED, required.

  • Experience: Two year Acute experience for CNA 1 required. CNA2 or EMT preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: NA I in good standing within the NA registry; OR NA II in good standing with NA II certification with required state; OR EMT current credential in appropriate state required.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing. Basic computer skills for documentation
