Child Care Lead Teacher

Responsible for providing a warm, safe and nurturing learning experience for the children at the childcare center while communicating the goals, guidelines and standards of the center. All team members are required to comply, maintain and enforce the rules and regulations of the North Carolina Division of Child Development as well as all Health Department sanitation requirements.

• Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree required. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Workforce Education unit required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred. Early Childhood or related field as defined by DHHS Division of Child Development Workforce Unit preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year verifiable experience in a child care center, or years of experience working with children up to 12 years of age required.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • NC Credentials EDU 119 or the equivalency defined by regulatory compliance Division of Child Development Workforce Unit required.
  • BSAC for school age children/summer camp. CDL license (if hired for driving buses) required.
  • CPR/First Aid within 2 months of hire required.
  • SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) within 2 months of hire ( infants up to 2 years of age) required.
• Additional Skills (required):
  • DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background Letter (required renewal every 3 years), and Workforce Education or education verification
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
