Novant Health is seeking a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) at Forsyth Medical Center in pulmonary progressive care to serve as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system and collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care.  Come join the largest med/surg unit in the hospital.  Patient population in this unit includes Covid-19, pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and respiratory failure.  The care you will provide and skills you will utilize will include trachs, vents, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes. 

Currently offering up to $15,000 sign on bonus

Schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. CPI certification within three months of hire., required.
  • Additional skills required: Ability to perform NPI safely. all CPI physical holds. Ability to care for Behavioral Health age specific patients within facility. Ability to establish therapeutic rapport and keep safety a priority, and maintain control of violent patients, defend self and others against violent assaults, ability to react appropriately in psychiatric crises, ability use violent and non-violent restraints restrictive interventions per policy and procedure. Ability to comprehend policies and procedures and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team. Ability to intervene in a therapeutic manner for behavior patterns symptoms/behaviors demonstrated by patients with an acute mental illness, substance use disorder personality disorder, substance abuse or developmental disability. Knowledge of psychiatric medications, side effects and treatment interventions, knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis, mental health concepts, and evidence based therapeutic interventions and treatments.
