Overview

The P&C Director of Benefits will report to the Vice President of Total Rewards and will serve as a resource to the system on benefit practices, benefit innovations, and legal parameters. In collaboration with HR leaders, this position is responsible for re-designing, developing, and implementing strategies to promote retention and recruitment of top talent. Promotes diversity and inclusion within the organization through innovative benefit plan design and administration. This position will provide leadership in achieving ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency in the benefits area while managing team members within benefits and the day-to-day operations.

 

Qualifications

  • Education: BS or BA degree required.
  • ExperienceMinimum 8 years of successful supervisory/management experience, preferred. 
  • Licensure/Certification:  PHR or SPHR certification, preferred.

    • Innovation: Ability to maximize capital and benefit options to support retention and recruitment.
    • Communication: Ability to distill complex topics into crisp and concise narratives that can be consumed by audiences with varying degrees of familiarity with the subject matter.
    • Digital Fluency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, specifically Power Point, Word, and Excel.
    • Speed to Market: Effectively works in a fast-paced work environment to deliver results.
    • Problem Solving: Strong analytical, critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Highly Effective Communicator: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, appropriately, and inclusively with key stakeholders at all levels.

    • Judgment: Demonstrated ability to act independently upon information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.

Responsibilities

 

  • Fosters an inclusive environment where leaders and team members work together as a team.
  • Determines effectiveness of current benefit programs in motivating and retaining employees, and in driving team member performance.
  • Identifies and responds to trends and benefit packages through review and analysis of market data and benefit surveys.
  • Ensures that all benefit-related activities are in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Leads market analysis of company jobs to determine competitive positioning of the organization's benefits programs.
  • Oversees the work of a team that provides consultative guidance to the system on issues related to benefits.
  • Develops goals and tracks performance against key indicators, assesses departmental performance, and develops and implements process improvements or enhancements.
  • Creates innovative processes and solutions in anticipation of market trends.
  • Consults senior leadership on all matters related to benefits.
  • Develops benefits packages that assist the organization in meeting its business objectives.
  • Reviews and approves new benefit offerings, or design or cost changes to existing offerings.
