Digital Products and Services team members are responsible for securely managing information systems throughout their lifecycle, including knowing what information systems are within their scope of responsibility, understanding what sensitive data is stored, transmitted, or processed on those information systems, enforcing the security principles of least privilege and least functionality, knowing what events may constitute a cybersecurity incident, and understanding their role in security incident response activities. The Novant Health Search Marketing Specialist Senior helps establish SEO goals, develop strategies, oversee SEO/SEM and analytics activities across multiple service lines (projects, tasks, delivery expectations, etc.) and implement proven SEO tactics to maximize Novant Health’s exposure. They will work closely and sometimes lead junior level SEO colleagues for optimal performance resources and professional development, etc. Serves as the subject matter expert on SEO/SEM and web related analytics and insights. This person will report into the Novant Health digital services group, but will work closely with marketing and communications to create, launch and measure SEO and SEM campaigns that drive business priorities.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, technology, business or related field, required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience with SEO/SEM/Analytics activities, preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Google Adwords, preferred. 
  • Additional skills required: A working understanding of PPC, Display Media, Affiliates, Feeds, Mobile, Social and Attribution. Proven knowledge of HTML/CSS, basic server functions, and the definitions and SEO implications of advanced website techniques (AJAX, Flash, HTML 5, and Google Tag Manager). Familiarity with SEO reporting platforms with a strong focus on Google Analytics and Business Intelligence. Should be an expert in SEO platforms such as SEMRush, ahref, screaming frog, deepcrawl, conductor, etc. Ability to drive/travel to multiple facilities/locations as needed.
  • Additional skills preferred:Proven knowledge of website technologies such as platforms and content management systems - A strong understanding of analytic/business intelligence tools such as Tableau and Cognos.

Essential Functions

Strategy Development: Responsible and accountable for planning, managing, executing and measuring multiple SEO/SEM/Analytics initiatives, which includes, but not limited to account setup, strategy development, organization, and goal management. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against established business goals. Collaborate on SEO/SEM/Analytics tests and research initiatives and monitor SEO platforms and tool sets (such as Google Search Console). Proactively review and analyze the organization’s digital assets for areas that need to be improved, revised, or deleted to maximize efficiency. Provide SEO/SEM expertise for keyword research, reporting, linking campaigns, conversion goals, on-page optimization, local search, Paid Search strategies, image and video optimization, digital asset optimization, and mobile search. Develop and oversee tactical and strategic deliverables around link building, content development, and site analysis. Monitor trends on SEO/SEM best practices and techniques to ensure top website ranking and identify new opportunities, maximize paid search, proactively research issues and formulate solutions. Proactively perform analysis on key performance indicators and make recommendations based on performance. Keep abreast of white hat and black hat tactics so as not to violate search engine guidelines and effectively communicate our SEO approach to colleagues. Collaborate and create effective Search Engine Marketing campaigns delivering against business goals.
 
Process Oversight: Will oversee the Novant Health domain manager and purchase domains as necessary and manage the DNS for all of the organization’s websites and mobile applications. Will assist in writing and evaluating effective SEO content that includes, but not limited to headlines, body copy and general website assets. Perform other website related duties as necessary. Work with third-party agencies as necessary to create fully integrated campaigns.
