Overview

Function in an expanded nursing role under approved protocols to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualized patient care. This role provides care to infants and their families in Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Newborn Nursery, Pediatrics, and other hospital areas as needed under the direct supervision of the Medical Director. Responsible for collaboration, consultation, teaching and supervising.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. M.S. in Nursing or Graduate of Accredited Physician Assistant Program; Masters of Medical Science, required.
  • Experience: Two years of high risk neonatal care experience, required.
  • Licensure/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed in North Carolina; approved to practice as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners; Certified by NCC; Or currently licensed by North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners as a Physician Assistant; Certified by NCCPA, required.
  • Additional skills required: Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
