Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy Coordinator

The Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) and Cellular Therapy Coordinator is accountable to ensure that all patients who are being evaluated for and undergoing hematopoietic cell transplantation and/or cell therapy receive comprehensive, coordinated care in an organized, consistent, efficient, and high quality manner. The role will help to shape the development and evolution of the Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (TCT) Program, serving to enhance its overall effectiveness, productivity, and quality. This position serves as the glue for facilitating an organized and comprehensive approach to the management of patients undergoing bone marrow transplants and/or receiving cellular therapy,

The HCT and Cellular Therapy Coordinator coordinates all services and systems to provide an organized, multi-disciplinary team approach for the care of patients within the TCT service. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical programs and procedures and participates in the performance improvement program. Coordinates the entry and integration of prospective patients into and through the TCT Program while serving as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, and other members of the health care team regarding the management of transplant and cellular therapy patients. This role is the common thread providing continuity of care for TCT patients throughout the process and beyond. • Education:  Bachelor’s degree required. Master's degree or Advanced Practice Clinician preferred.
• Experience: Minimum three years clinical experience in Blood and marrow transplant required.
• Licensure/certification/registration: Current North Carolina RN licensure required. BLS Healthcare Provider required. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Bone and Marrow Transplant Certification preferred.
• Additional skills required: Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written are required.
• Additional skills preferred: Skills in patient education, leadership, consulting, teamwork and collaboration are necessary. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Strong critical thinking skills. Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care. Able to work independently without close supervision.
