Overview

Novant Health is seeking a Bed Control Specialist. Performs bed assignments based upon established protocols, patient diagnosis, physician specialty and service and bed support availability. Ensures that clinical areas are notified timely of patients needing placement, keeps delays to a minimum. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of service and specialty lines, ensures that bed placement complies with departmental policies and procedures.  Come join a remarkable team where quality care meets quality service, in every dimension, every time.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree - Associates Degree in Business or related field, preferred.
  • Experience (required): One year patient access, registration, billing, cash collections, insurance and/or pre-registration, or related experience in a medical environment. Experience with patient placement, medical assisting (medical assistant) or familiarity with clinical services in an acute care setting.
  • Licensure/Certification: Certified Healthcare Access Associate, preferred.
