Clinical Coordinator - OR/Surgery

Novant Health is seeking a Clinical Coordinator. The OR Clinical coordinator is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Surgical suites. This includes ensuring adequate staffing, facilitating efficient flow and execution of the daily elective slate, scheduling and coordinating emergency/add-on cases, communicating with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other inter-disciplinary team members, and providing information to the OR team to ensure safe and high-quality patient care. The coordinator is a leader to others and provides education and expertise to team members to support them in delivering the highest quality of perioperative care. The coordinator works with surgical services leadership to implement process changes within the team to support knowledge-based practice and organizational initiatives.  Excellent communication and organizational skills are required to perform this role successfully. The incumbent must be able to handle stressful, critical situations with calm and poise as well as possess excellent conflict resolution skills.

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; B.S. in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years operating room RN circulating experience in an acute care facility
• Preferred Qualifications: Scrubbing experience, Previous OR Clinical coordinator or OR service line coordinator experience

• Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as an RN, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)’ age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
