Calling all L&D Nurses or those that are seeking to get into this speciality!! This is a great unit with a incredible support system/ team enviroment to grow or start your Labor and Delivery RN career.

 

The L&D unit at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem is a fast paced environment, seeking nurses with a passion for this specialty. RN's will be caring for laboring patients from the time they are admitted through immediate post-partum recovery. This unit has 21 labor beds, 8 Obstetric Emergency beds (OB-ED, equal to a triage room). Winston-Salem is centrally located to the beaches and mountains, has a great restaurant and bar scene, and plenty of family friendly spots as well.

 

Schedule:

This is a FT, night shift position (7P-7A). There are 2 call shifts required within a 6- week period and every third weekend is required. Employee will be placed on a weekend team and will know weekend shifts in advance. This unit does self-scheduling! 1 year of acute RN experience is required, will consider candidates without L&D experience if passionate about this unit.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. See essential functions for further requirements
