Registered Nurse - Med/Surg ICU

FT/PT Eligible for up to $15k sign-on bonus - Med-Surg ICU - Forsyth Medical Center

The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health.

The unit is a 30-bed Med-Surg ICU. We operate on a 2:1 ratio but may flex to 3:1 if needed for 1:1's.

Overview:

• We are a tertiary Med-Surg ICU specializing in the management of hemodynamically instability, CRRT, ventilator management, prone therapy, A-lines, and targeted temperature management. 

What makes our unit different?

• We have provider coverage in the unit 24/7.
• Our team leader and rapid response nurse operate out-of-coverage each shift which allows for additional resources for the unit.
• When at capacity, an additional nurse maybe allocated to round and assist with assignments and procedures.
• Our rapid responder works out of coverage and responds to all rapid response calls house wide.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state
• BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS
• One-year relevant experience, Prior ICU experience preferred.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state required. BLS Healthcare Provider, ACLS required. CCRN, PCCN, CNRN preferred.
• Additional Skills Preferred: Previous applicable progressive/telemetry and/or critical care/neuro clinical experience.
