Overview

The Manager, Associate General Counsel role serves as legal counsel for Novant Health, Inc. and its related corporate entities with responsibility for legal matters involving growth and transactional leaders focused on expanding Novant Health and its related entities’ offerings. The attorney will be responsible for healthcare practice transactions, mergers and acquisition matters, and other transactions., risk management and compliance issues related to transactions with physicians and/or physician groups. The Manager leads the projects, processes and resources needed for each entity of responsibility with limited supervision and makes recommendations and follows through to the completion of all projects within their group(s). The Manager mentors and supports Associate General Counsel role.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree, required. Undergraduate degree from a recognized college or university.  Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school, required.
  • Experience:  A minimum of five years experience in the Practice of Law
  • License/certifications:  Admission to the bar of at least one state or the District of Columbia required
  • Additional skills required:  Knowledge of both clinical medicine and hospital operations and management. Skills for problem solving, teamwork, and developing innovative solutions. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to handle unusual, demanding and unrelated tasks, supervise and develop others in their performance. Strong organizational skills. Proven project leadership and completion.

  • Supports growth, development of initiatives, and overall performance of strategy. Demonstrates dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of stakeholders.
  • Work alongside team members to monitor and evolve practices for continuous process improvement.
  • Oversee specialized legal areas such as mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic partnerships; value-based enterprises; private equity and direct investment; and other transactional support.
  • Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
