Overview

The Director, Assistant General Counsel works closely with growth and transactional leaders focused on expanding Novant Health and its related entities’ offerings. The attorney will be responsible for healthcare practice transactions, mergers and acquisition matters, and other transactions. The position reports to the VP, Assistant General Counsel.

Qualifications

  • Education: Undergraduate Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university required.  Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school, required.
  • Experience:  A minimum of 7-8 yrs experience in the Practice of Law and regulatory healthcare experience required. The Anti-Kickback Statue (AKS), The Stark Law, and other Anti- Trust regulations experience required. Broad healthcare transactional experience (physician acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, etc.) and Foundational knowledge of healthcare operations experience required. 
  • 340B regulatory experience, preferred.
  • Managed care experience, preferred. 
  • Value-based arrangements experience preferred. 
  • Physician network experience preferred. 
  • License/certifications:  Admission to the bar of at least one state or the District of Columbia required
  • Additional skills required:  Knowledge of both clinical medicine and hospital operations. Skills for problem solving, teamwork, and developing innovative solutions. Excellent communication skills required. Ability to handle unusual, demanding and unrelated tasks. Strong organizational skills. Proven project leadership and completion.
