Overview

The carpenter will be responsible for advanced level construction and maintenance work, as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership, necessary to maintain the service life of company assets such as physical structures and grounds in an operative and safe working condition.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience performing general construction activities in a commercial, industrial or healthcare setting, required. Minimum of four years of experience performing general maintenance in a health care facility or similar work environment, preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Ability to successfully apply customer satisfaction standards. Knowledgeable in the use of a variety of hand and power tools used in facility maintenance. Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority. Valid driver’s license required. Certification/s or thorough knowledge of the principles of design, construction and renovations in various types of trade skills to include framing, drywall, millwork, doors and door-locks, flooring, and ceiling installations.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Certification/s or thorough knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, fire codes, and The Joint Commission standards for the Environment of Care. Certification/s or thorough knowledge in reading and understanding blue prints and electrical schematics.
