Overview

The Non-Licensed Plumber will be responsible for advanced level work, as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership, necessary to maintain the service life of company assets such as physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, utilities, and grounds in an operative and safe working condition.

Qualifications

  • Education:  High School Diploma or GED, required. One year of vocational school, required.
  • Experience: At least two years experience in commercial plumbing, installation and maintenance; required. Healthcare experience, preferred.
  • Additional skills required: Knowledgeable in the application and practice of life safety, plumbing and building codes. Knowledgeable in the repair of plumbing systems and equipment. Ability to analytically troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical equipment issues using a variety of testing equipment. Knowledgeable in repairs and installation of medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air and nitrous oxide systems and equipment. Knowledge in the installation and repair of various kitchen equipment. Ability to evaluate plumbing systems for performance and efficiency improvement. Thorough knowledge in understanding and utilizing technical service manuals, electrical schematics and blue prints. Valid Driver's License in state of employment. In the execution of his/her duties a Non-Licensed Plumber may be subjected to or exposed to any or all of the following; electrical shock hazards, severe weather conditions, infectious diseases, hazardous chemicals and other general hazardous conditions/situations as would normally be incurred in this line of work. Manual dexterity required for working with equipment and tools. Medium to heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending and stretching. Ability to work in a kneeling position for extended periods. Ability to hear and understand verbal communication changes in machine/equipment noises. Ability to climb ladders and work at extreme heights and confined spaces. Ability to work in a stressful environment resulting from a large volume or traffic and noise. Ability to work extended shifts if necessary/required. Ability to assist in firefighting and evacuation.
  • Additional skills preferred: Knowledge in electrical and electronic systems. Thorough knowledge in the use of personal computers and PC programs.
