Overview

The HCT and Cellular Therapy Coordinator coordinates all services and systems to provide an organized, multi-disciplinary team approach for the care of patients within the TCT service. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical programs and procedures and participates in the performance improvement program. Coordinates the entry and integration of prospective patients into and through the TCT Program while serving as a clinical and educational consultant to the nursing staff, medical staff, management, and other members of the health care team regarding the management of transplant and cellular therapy patients. This role is the common thread providing continuity of care for TCT patients throughout the process and beyond.

Qualifications

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree -  Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; B.S. in Nursing, required.
  • Experience: 3 years Clinical experience in Blood and Marrow Transplantation and/or Cellular Therapy, preferred.
  • Licensure/certification/registration: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required. Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) of Blood and Marrow Transplantation Certified Nurse (BMTCN), preferred.
  • Additional skills required: Interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Skills in patient education, leadership, consulting, teamwork and collaboration are necessary.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team
      members.
    • Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care.
    • Strong critical thinking skills.
    • Desire to provide compassionate, holistic care.
    • Able to work independently without close supervision.
    • Demonstration of high energy and flexibility to accommodate one program's interest in two
      locations.
    • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with attention to fine detail.
    • Desire to be vested in the culture and nuisances of the TCT ProgramDesire to learn and master basic fundamentals of TCT and be a lifelong learner of ongoing
      advancements and improvement in TCT practice.
    • Must maintain a cooperative and positive attitude.
    • Ability and flexibility to adapt in an evolving high-energy environment. Exhibit trustworthiness that contributes to a positive and productive teamwork dynamic.
  • Additional skills preferred: Knowledge of HCT and cellular therapy processes, including mobilization, apheresis, conditioning regimens, HCT/cellular product infusion, pre and post TCT patient care, chimeric antigen receptor Tcell (CAR T) therapies and complications, Center for International Blood & Marrow Research (CIBMTR) reporting, and standards of the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) (preferred).
