Overview

Provides leadership in achieving standard of care, collaborating with physicians and other team members to plan and implement cardiac procedures in accordance with the current policies and procedures. This position scrubs, monitors, and floats for cardiac procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required.
  • Experience: Two to five years’ experience, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; registered nurse currently licensed in North Carolina; certification preferred in specialty, or graduate of Radiological Technologist program resulting in certification listed with AART
  • Additional Skills (required):
    • Knowledge of customer group: demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age, principles of growth and development over the life span and cultural diversity of the customers assigned to the unit. Ability to assess (if RN) and interpret data about the customer’s status in order to identify each customer’s specific needs and plan/provide the care needed.
    • Procedure/process: current and future trends/practice I field of Nursing (internal or external) or Radiology; regulatory/governing standards; policies and procedures. Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation competency testing and performance evaluation in collaboration with the Manager.
    • Information systems: demonstrate ability to access and use the computer systems/information systems appropriate to role. Ability to access and interpret this data.
    • Equipment use: ability to use office equipment, clinical information systems, and general customer care equipment. Participate n life safety and disaster drills.
    • Life safety: applies safety and infection control policies and procedures; equipment. Participates in life safety and disaster drills.
    • Process accountability: use principles of the continuous improvement philosophy and methods. Able to assess/interpret data about teaching/learning activities, customer feedback and modify as appropri
    • Staff development: ability to apply principles of adult learning theory and continuous improvement methods and process in coordinating and supporting staff development activities which may include coaching and counseling. Participation in coaching, feedback, and development processes
    • Coaching/Counseling: develop personal learning plans; give and receive feedback; skill development in coaching, counseling and communication techniques.
    • Critical thinking skill: ability to facilitate the critical thinking process for the customer to achieve the best decision and desired outc
    • Communication skills: demonstrate effective verbal and nonverbal communication recognizing diversity among age groups, cultures and education levels; effective interpersonal relationship skills (including conflict management); and effective communication.
