Overview

Serve as a Clinical / Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) in a physician practice, specifically in the primary care sports medicine, and/or orthopedic clinical setting. The LAT in the appropriate state, acts under the supervision of a supervising physician and must adhere to the protocols and guidelines as required by the licensing agency. The protocols must be written in collaboration with the supervising physician and reviewed annually and on file with the state licensing agency. The LAT works within their scope of practice in the primary care sports medicine, and/or orthopedic clinic.

Qualifications

  • Education:  4 Year / Bachelors’ degree, required. Bachelors’ degree in athletic training or equivalent from a CAATE accredited program required. Graduate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience as a certified athletic trainer having participated in various administrative, educational or medical support services, required. Physician extender background and experience with an electronic medical record, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: NATABOC Certification (National Athletic Trainers Association-Board of Certification), required.
  • Additional skills required: Excellent written and communication skills. Must be able to work within multidisciplinary team.
