Overview

Novant Health is seeking an END Tech II at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.

  • Electroneudiagnostic Technicians are eligible for a signing bonus up to $3,000 at qualifying locations.

Our END Tech IIs perform all department procedures and assist with the supervision other technicians as well as assists management in technical accountability of service lines. Sunday - Tuesday; 6p-6a

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2 Year / Associate Degree, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years professional experience in neurodiagnostics procedures or a minimum of one yr experience in Surgical Monitoring or one yr experience in neuro and is registered, required.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registry eligible or registered/certified in a neurodiagnostic field, required.
  • Additional skills required: Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s)’ age. Has the ability to interpret information to identify each patient’s requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Maintain CPR. Able to identify basic cardiac rhythm and rate. Must be able to rotate call independently. Must be able to interpret basic encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal. Must be able to rotate weekend shifts and or call independently. Must be able to assist Neurologists in the basic interpretation of encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal.
  • Additional skills preferred: Able to identify basic cardiac rhythm and rate. Assist and identify the basic interpretation of encephalographic brain patterns; normal and abnormal.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of every Novant Health team member to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time.

  • Performs END procedures using appropriate test strategy, electrode montage parameters, and calibration.
  • Obtains all relevant information from the patient's medical record history and progress notes, and transfers this to the technologist's report.
  • Performs long-term video/EEG monitoring of patients with scalp and intracranial electrodes. Provides accurate and complete management of EEG recordings, including archived record of EEG data.
  • Adheres to the standards of practice for EEG recordings.
  • Assists with the technical operation of specialized Neurodiagnostic procedures including long term monitoring, evoked potentials, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
  • Promotes a positive attitude towards patients, family members, and other members of the healthcare team, while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
