Novant Health is hiring a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) registered nurse for the Day shift for our New Hanover Regional Medical Center location in Wilmington, NC.  We’re offering up to a $20,000 sign-on bonus as well as up to $7,500 relocation.

About the CVOR Department:

We’re seeking a registered nurse to join our tight-knit team dedicated to providing specialized care for cardiac surgical patients. Our team is dedicated to 24-hour care of cardiac patients ensuring continuity of care which fosters a sense of trust and familiarity between our patients. The emphasis on individualized orientation speaks to the team’s commitment to ensuring that each member is fully prepared to meet the unique needs of the patients they care for.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in accredited nursing school required.
  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license or Multi-State/Compact required.
  • 1 Year experience in acute care required.
  • 1 Year previous experience in CVOR preferred.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and communicates patient care needs for discharge planning in interdisciplinary care conferences and with members of the health care team.
  • Provides care based on established standards of practice, policies and protocols.
  • Ensures that patients are admitted, transferred and discharged in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Applies critical thinking to resolve problems.
  • Documents assessment, delivery of care and patient’s response to care in the medical record.
  • Manages and delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
