About the VitaLink department:

We’re seeking an Education Coordinator to join our VitaLink Team! As an Education Coordinator, you will focus heavily on teamwork, integrity, and continuous clinical process improvement. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Outcomes & Compliance, this role is responsible for developing and delivering education programs within the department, across facilities, and regionally. Additionally, you will oversee departmental staff orientation, ensure completion of mandatory certification courses and education, maintain staff education records, and perform duties as an active transport staff member as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in related field required, Bachelor’s preferred. 
  • Paramedic training program or graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, required. 
  • Current valid North Carolina nursing license required. CFRN, CEN or CCRN certifications required. 
  • Or, Current valid North Carolina Paramedic certification required. CCP-C or FP-C certifications required. 
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications required. Advanced trauma certification and NRP required within 6 months of hire (instructor level preferred). 
  • Minimum of 5 years of emergency services or critical care experience preferred.

If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of education to maintain clinical competency. Assist in staff development for quality and professional improvement and provide coaching/remediation. 
  • Develop and oversee quarterly simulations and clinical rotations for critical care, ALS, and ILS/BLS staff. 
  • Identify and update continuing education requirements to maintain compliance with accrediting, regulating, and credentialing agencies. Stay updated with current trends in science, academic medicine, and healthcare. 
  • Regularly function as a staff Paramedic or Nurse, maintaining necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies.
