Overview

Novant Health is seeking an END Tech at Huntersville Medical Center

 

The END Tech’s Number One job responsibility is to deliver the most remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time, and understands how to contribute to the health system’s commitment to patients and families. The END Tech performs patient diagnostic procedures such as EEG’s and LTM including correctly charging and assigning completed exams. Promotes the availability and provision of neurophysiology services; compiles and supports organization and department policies and procedures; maintains clinical and professional competency, according to department policies, procedures, and protocols, as appropriate for the age of patients served. Performs department diagnostic procedures under hte supervision of registered staff. 

 

 

Schedule details:

 

3 days per week, Monday-Friday, 9:30am – 6:00pm

Rotating holidays and weekends on call, 8:00am – 4:30pm

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. One year of formal or on the job neurodiagnostics training preferred.
  • Experience: One year Neurodiagnostic experience preferred.
  • Additional Skills (required): Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient(s): Requirements for care that are relative to his/her age specific needs to the diagnostic testing being performed.
  • Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of Xltek Equipment. Uses technology and best practice methods to achieve clinical outcomes. Strives to grow personally and professionally. Honesty and personal integrity guides actions. Approaches each service opportunity with a positive, flexible attitude.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of every Novant Health team member to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time.

  • Performs END procedures using appropriate test strategy, electrode montage parameters, and calibration.
  • Obtains all relevant information from the patient's medical record history and progress notes, and transfers this to the technologist's report.
  • Performs long-term video/EEG monitoring of patients with scalp and intracranial electrodes. Provides accurate and complete management of EEG recordings, including archived record of EEG data.
  • Adheres to the standards of practice for EEG recordings.
  • Assists with the technical operation of specialized Neurodiagnostic procedures including long term monitoring, evoked potentials, and intraoperative neuromonitoring.
  • Promotes a positive attitude towards patients, family members, and other members of the healthcare team, while adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
