Overview

Novant Health is currently seeking a staff Dosimetrist I or Dosimetrist II to complete a team of 5 existing Dosimetrists and 1 lead Dosimetrist at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.  The main center comprises of two Varian True Beam Linacs, a VitalBeam, a Varian iX Linac, a VariSourse iX HDR Afterloader, and a Siemens Somatom CT scanner.  VisonRT is used for SGRT.  This center currently utilizes Varian Eclipse for treatment planning,  ARIA for Record and Verify, RapidPlan, and several RadFormation products including Clear Check, EZfluence, and Clear Calc.  There are 6 Medical Physicists and 5 Radiation Oncologists for the center.  This is a Hybrid position (currently our dosimetrist work 4 days remote and 1 day on-site).

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Experience:  2 years preferred. 

Licensure/Certification: Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) preferred.

Skills Required:  A knowledge of radiation therapy practices and principles.  An understanding and appreciation of complex radiation therapy machines and systems.  A commitment to safety in each and every action performed.  The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.  Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.  Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.  Keen attention to detail.  Flexibility in scheduling.

Additional Skills Preferred:  Advanced knowledge of treatment planning, image guidance, and electronic medical records.  A general knowledge of Radiation Safety principles and practices.  Willingness to travel on occasion for training and education.  The willingness to tackle new challenges and expanding responsibilities.
