    The Ambulatory Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The registered nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The registered nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • Education:  Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure by state Board of Nursing of North Carolina. 
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in a medical environment. Previous specialized or complex experience preferred. 
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration:  Current RN license in appropriate state required. ACLS, PALS, BAT and DOT preferred.

    • Additional skills and responsibilities required: Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed/complex instructions: Highly effective verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills. Skills in establishing and maintaining an effective relationship with patients and families, physicians, other medical professionals, practice management and staff, and the public. Strong organizational skills, ability to adhere to deadlines and protocols.  Ability to work under pressure and react calmly and effectively in emergency/difficult  situations. In-depth knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures and protocols. Abilities to learn or have knowledge of applicable governmental regulations and protocols. Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-task environment with flexibility as needed. Ability to be a team player and take initiative.
