About 8th West Tower
8th West Tower the largest Med-Surg unit in the hospital, with 48 beds spread over 3 units. Our ratios are 1:5-6. We are open to new grads and residents and don’t necessarily require any experience. We realize nurses will learn quite a lot on our unit. Patient diagnosis include: Covid-19, pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary Embolism (PE), influenza, and respiratory failure. We will also have trach and/or ventilated patients, Bipaps and CPAPs, chest tubes, and high flow oxygen. We always have respiratory therapists on the unit to manage the machines. We work closely with RT as well as PT/OT, case management, speech therapy, and the hospitalists. ACLS and BLS is needed. Stroke certification, optional.

We are a 24-bed cardiac pre and post procedural, inpatient, card-tele unit located within Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center on the 5th West Tower I. CPPU provides care to a vast array of patients with various cardiac diagnoses:
*Cardiac Catheterizations pre-post- Diagnostic and PCI placement
*Arterial and Venous sheath removal and management
* Permanent Pacemaker and Automatic Internal Cardiac Defibrillator (AICD) pre-post procedure
* Watchman Procedures
* Treatment of cardiac arrythmias with medicated drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Sotalol)
* Nitroglycerin drips not greater than 20mcg for stable chest pain patients
* Non- ST elevation myocardial infarctions (NSTEMI) treatment
* Heart failure patient populations-Occasional Lasix drips, renal dose Dopamine/Dobutamine
* Carotid Artery Stent Patients (CAS)- post procedure

3C Surgical/Trauma - Presbyterian Medical Center
The Registered Nurse serves as a leader of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system, collaborating with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care that promotes optimal health or supports a peaceful death. The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and compassion to assist the patient in navigating their health journey. The Registered Nurse accepts responsibility, authority, and accountability for management and provision of care in accordance with the current policies and procedures.
The 3C surgery/trauma unit at Presbyterian Medical Center has a 5/6:1 patient ratio and a total of 24 beds. This unit provides patient care for a variety of service lines. You may be caring for incoming trauma patients, post-PACU admissions (including but not limited to women's, colorectal, urological, and general) as well as caring for medical patients. If you are a RN who enjoys learning or enhancing your skills- this unit is for you

- Telemetry monitored and unmonitored patients.
