The Pharmacy Student will provide clinical and operational pharmacy services for assigned area(s), optimizing the quality of patient care under the supervision of a preceptor. The Pharmacy Student will be a self-directed, motivated learner as guided by intern program leaders and preceptors. Examples of major learning and development activities for the Pharmacy Student include: participate in key services such as vaccination programs, medication listing, discharge counseling, medication navigation and medication therapy management, provide education for pharmacists, technicians and other health care professionals regarding proper drug therapy, and conduct research and quality improvement projects. The Pharmacy Student provides pharmacy operations support to develop a well-rounded understanding of all aspects of pharmaceutical care within the hospital or community pharmacy settings. The Pharmacy Student acts in accordance with current policies and procedures. Appropriate and current state licensure and continuing education requirements must be completed prior to the start date and be active for the duration of employment.
