Works under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager to prepare, label, and dispense, as well as maintain appropriate records for all medications and other pharmaceutical supplies ordered by physicians or other qualified prescribers. Work is accomplished in accordance with the policies and regulations of local, state, and federal authorities as well as accepted standards of practice.

Works under the supervision of the Manager. As directed by a physician, administers a variety of simple and complex treatments and tests. Collaborates with medical director and multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized treatment plans for program participants. Responsible for the competent delivery of all routine and emergent respiratory care services as described in the Respiratory Care policy and procedure manual. Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests and equipment to patients. Records all pertinent information of treatments, including patient response in the patient’s chart.

Employee works under the direction and supervision of the Pharmacy Director and Pharmacy Managers. As directed, orders supplies appropriate to meet patient need for Inpatient Pharmacy, Pharmacy Satellite locations and ancillary departments within New Hanover Health Network and may serve as a buyer when necessary. This employee is responsible for the distribution of medications in the pharmacy, medication inspections, state vaccine procurement and distribution, and ensures proper medication labeling per hospital policy. Employee collects unused medications and operates computer equipment for the process of patient pharmacy charges and credits.
